Hamedan

Radiating with six straight avenues from a central square (Imam Khomayni), Hamedan is one of the oldest continuously  inhabited towns, center of civilization,  capitals of different dynasties ruled in Iran through the ages.
Capital of the province of Hamedan, and located in an altitude of 1,800 meter above sea level, it is 400 km to the southwest of Tehran by road via Qazvin, and can be reached by air as well.
IModern Hamedan  is built on the plans prepared by the German architect Karl Fritsch, Hamedon is the ancient Ecbatana or the Medes capital .
It was the residence of Achaemenian Kings, and the summer resort of the Parthian and Sassanian dynasties.
Hamedan's climate is mild and delightful in summer, and cold in winter. Early spring and late autumn are the rainy seasons for the region.

1- Hegmataneh Palace ( ancient Ecbatana 614 B.C.) & Museum
2- Alaviyan Dome ( 12th century A.D.)
3- Baba Taher s Tomb ( 12th century A.D.)
4- Poet Ganj Nameh ( A collection of  inscriptions belong to Achaemenid era 500 B.C.)
5- Avicenna tomb- museum.
